Meet the TITAN™ Swing Connect Saddle

Picture this: You’re knee deep in a service line installation carefully positioning a saddle in place. But just as you’re about to insert the bolt, it slips through your grasp and disappears into the ditch below. After a frustrating search, you find the bolt only to discover that the threads are now caked with mud, compromising the integrity of the joint.

A.Y. McDonald’s newest innovation, called the TITAN™ Swing Connect Saddle, leaves conventional saddles in the dust. Unlike regular saddles with loose bolts that are easily lost or damaged, our TITAN Swing Connect Saddle is available with a TITAN™ bolt that comes pre-attached on a pivoting joint. This bolt includes an integrated plastic break away bolt head designed to break of at a new higher torque of 9-11 ft. pounds of torque, thus eliminating over-torquing when installing a service saddle. With the bolt and saddle perfectly aligned, cross threading is now a thing of the past.

In addition, the TITAN™ Swing Connect Saddle also has a machined slot in the foot of the saddle that makes installation faster and more convenient. Just slide it over your water main, swing the saddle shut, pivot the TITAN™ bolt in place, and tighten the connection using any method you’d like. Once the correct torque is reached, the injection molded limiting torque will break off and you’re done.
