Valve Repair Made Easy with A.Y. McDonald

One small leak in a water system due to a faulty valve can cause wasted water, property damage, and expensive repairs. In the water works industry, the solution is replacing this valve, which involves a lot of manipulation within the service line and its components. However, what if we told you that it could be easier?

Meet the A.Y. McDonald Repair Angle Meter Stop, recognized as the quick and easy replacement for a faulty valve. Designed with an extended four inches of vertical flexibility, this innovative solution allows you to replace your old angle meter stop without digging up the entire service line or cutting it short to add a coupling. Below is the process of installing the repair angle meter stop:

  • Cut the service line below the leaking valve
  • Line up the Repair Angle Meter Stop with the meter, assemble the compression nut onto the existing pipe, and tighten the set screw
  • Drop the gasket in and secure the valve to the meter by tightening the swivel nut for a watertight seal

The repair standard port angle meter valves in 3/4” and 1” CTS compression contain a 300 PSI rated ball valve. This includes “blow out proof” EPDM port seals supporting a PTFE coated brass ball for ease of operation and a 90-degree turn operating head. The valve is constructed with a no-lead brass construction with many varieties of CTS end connections available.

A.Y. McDonald’s Repair Angle Meter Stop allows you to replace leaky valves efficiently, eliminating extra connection joints, and protecting your water system with a product that’s built to last. Use this valve wherever a longer lay length angle valve is required to make up the difference in the lay length of an existing valve and tubing is removed.
